Dear Colleagues

Re: Request to participate in a research study titled ‘The extent of the treatment and prosthodontic rehabilitation for acquired head and neck defects in South Africa’

I am Dr Matshediso Mothopi-Peri, and I am currently enrolled for a PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand. My study includes Dental Technicians/Technologists, Prosthodontists and surgeons. The main aim of this study is to establish the number of the surgical procedures and maxillofacial prosthodontic rehabilitation procedures that are performed in the head and neck region in South Africa and to determine the barriers that clinicians and dental technicians/technologists face whilst managing these patients or giving laboratory technical support. The output of this study is anticipated to provide information which will guide the establishment of better treatment protocols and or guidelines and training options for clinicians and Dental Technicians/Technologists in the field of Maxillofacial prosthodontics.

The link provided below contains the information leaflet which explains everything about the study, a consent form, and the questionnaire . The questionnaire will take between 10 and 15 minutes.

Your participation in this study will be highly appreciated
